Under the slogan “Afrin, You Are Not Alone, All of Sarin People Are With You” Democratic Society Movement Council (TEV-DEM) organized on Sunday in Sarin town a massive demonstration to condemn the Turkish occupation state’s attacks on Afrin canton and al-Shahba, and the isolation imposed on the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan.
Hundreds of Sarin people, Civil Society Institutions members, TEV-DEM Council and the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in Kobanî canton participated in the demonstration. The protestors chanted the slogans that salute Afrin resistance, and held banners written by “Afrin, You Are Not Alone, All of Sarin People Are Beside You”, “Freedom for The Leader Apo”, “Long Live Afrin Resistance”, and “Sarin Condemns the Turkish Occupation State’s Attacks on Afrin”.
The demonstration started from the municipality’s square till al-Shuhada square in the center of Sarin town. Moreover, as the protestors reached al-Shuhada square, they held a minute of silence.
Then, the co-chair of TEV-DEM Council in Sarin stated “we salute these masses in Sarin, the neighborhood of great martyrs, and we as Sarin people condemn the Turkish occupying Ottmani state’s attacks on Afrin canton “Olive City” and al-Shahba areas. This occupation aims at restoring its glorification by occupying Syrian lands, but it is wrong and it could not dominate any meter”.
After that, in the name of DAA in Kobanî, speech was delivered by Ahmad Sheikho “at the beginning, we congratulate this historic step by Sarin town people for the people of resistant and antagonist Afrin against all its enemies, and for al-Shahba areas, in addition to condemning the isolation imposed on the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan.
Sheikho also made it clear that Turkey’s aim is to stir conflicts among the peoples of the area to protect its interests in the area.
Then, the girl Duha al-Issa delivered poetic verse expressing Sarin people’ support to Afrin and al-Shahba areas.
The demonstration ended by chanting the slogans that salute Afrin resistance and the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan resistance.
