Yesterday, the first democratic federal elections for North Syria ended in all cities and regions of North Syria. The High Electoral Commissions in the regions of Cizîre, the Euphrates and Afrin and all North Syria areas announced the end of the electoral process successfully and with a high participation rate.
The celebration began with brief speeches by co- chair of Dêrik Council Sahib Osman’s and the priest Elias, who spoke on behalf of the Syriac people.
The speeches congratulated the peoples of the area on the success of co-chair elections for the communes, stressing that the intensity of the participation of the people in the elections was a decisive response to all sides which opposed these elections. They also expressed their full confidence in the success of the democratic federalism project.
The celebration continued with the singing of Judi band of the Dijla Center for Culture and Art and people took to forming rings dancing Dabka.
