roboski3Fresh information is coming out regarding the bombardment conducted by the Turkish army Sunday evening, which targeted a group of some 15 local people doing border trade in Roboski village of Şırnak’s Uludere district – the very same scene where a total of 34 people, mainly minors and youngsters, had been killed in a Turkish aerial attack on 28 December, 2011.

HDP Şırnak parliamentarian Ferhat Encü announced on his Twitter account that one civilian died and 5 others were wounded, including some seriously. The slain civilian is reported to be Vedat Encü, brother of Davut Öncü who was among the 34 victims of the Roboski massacre.

Encü said the bombardment of today has been carried out at the same hour when villagers from Roboski had been killed in 2011.

According to reports, locals are crossing into the South Kurdistan side of the border to retrieve the wounded civilians targeted by Turkish bombardment. Encü also reported that a group of some 30-40 people managed to flee the shelling and had to flee to the other side of the border, and these trapped people have no security of life at the moment.

Turkish officials are yet to make a statement on the incident.
